[09:21:32] <rkdavis> they use outlook for email (yes they do have a webmail interface but it's a pita) and all papers and stuff have to be in office format and half their handouts are in office formats plus and half the webpages are ie only

[09:22:43] <rkdavis> works for most stuff but a few professors refuse to accept docs made with non-office suites
[09:22:46] <Valium1> so maybe you MIGHT be able to use wine for that
[09:23:28] <Valium1> if nothing else, crossover has a wine spinoff specificaly for running office
[09:23:58] <rkdavis> i've set him up with everything that i can but there are stil a few hold outs that won't accept stuff if it isn't perfect
[09:24:22] <rkdavis> but at least they no longer use iPlanet -- that was a PITA
