[10:59:57] <dTal> I assume the Zipit LCD controller supports DPMS, as I'm pretty sure I've issued DPMS commands from within X before.
[11:13:34] <Guest29345> dTal: What's the advantage of DPMS when you can just shut off the backlight? I can't imagine the LCD uses a ton of power...

[16:01:18] <FiftyOneFifty> Mozzwald: Have you seen www.TinyOgg.com? You plug in a YouTube link and he transcoded to Ogg on his server, returns a link after a few minutes.

[16:03:39] <FiftyOneFifty> I've thought of asking if they would set up a ZipIt specific page, but I've not had enough experience transcoding yet to be able to tell him the correct parameters.
[16:07:24] <mozzwald> hmm.. I wonder if you could set it up to transcode on the fly and run it from your home computer.
[16:11:24] <FiftyOneFifty> He has a link to the code, anyone could set up a server. I think I heard about it on Cranks, they said from the hosting that it was part of a grant competion for High School kids.
