[10:56:53] <rkdavis> i was googling recently and discovered that it might be possible to get usb to go i.e. host working on the zipit, gpsfan is taking a look

[10:57:28] <dTal> I already looked into that, it's possible but unlikely
[10:57:34] <rkdavis> usb on the go -- it's sort of a dual mode usb that works as host and client
[10:57:44] <dTal> depends how zipit wired the connector
[10:57:55] <rkdavis> dTal: we have all the bits in place and it looks like the rear expansion port is wired correctly
[10:58:10] <rkdavis> gpsfan took a look earlier this week and it looks doable
[10:58:25] <dTal> it requires the usb host be brought out someplace
[10:58:46] <dTal> since it's just an interface to the usb host really
[10:58:57] <dTal> in which case, proper usb host is possible
[10:58:58] <rkdavis> dTal: nope it requires the correct port on the processor to be the one wired up and it is looking good
[10:59:16] <dTal> I looked at the docs
[10:59:22] <dTal> are you sure?
[10:59:26] <rkdavis> there are 3 usb ports on the pxa27x and ours seems to be the correct one

[11:04:58] <aliosa27> one thing i saw he had wanted to do was make the rootfs smaller, i had done the same and squashed it as a squashfs read only with minifo doing the read write emulation, oe is 15 megs like this and debian with x is 52

[11:08:37] <rkdavis> and thnx, i was digging through the pxa27x manual to get some stuff working but i ended up with a complete mess so stuck with the on/off until i had a chance to sit down with it properly, was lookign at over/underclocking too

[11:16:05] <GPSFan> rkdavis, g'day, I've got the ohci code stuffed into the kernel, on bootup it enumerates the ohci device but produces some errors, and the real hardware bits don't agree with what I set in the init code, so things are progressing, but ain't htere yet.

[11:20:10] <GPSFan> rkdavis, I figured out why I wasn't getting a serial console too, the code that init's the console was moved, and changed so you can init only the serial ports that are actually connected.
