[15:27:00] <RayHaque> So if any of you are running the stock OS, give that a shot. ;-)
[15:27:22] <RayHaque> I also made a little video to demonstrate what I added.
[15:27:26] <RayHaque> More to com!
[15:27:28] <RayHaque> *come
[15:51:25] <rkdavis> downloading it now :)
[15:57:14] <rkdavis> ok the wifi setup doesn't seem to be working on my ap
[15:57:24] <rkdavis> invalid psk
[15:57:33] <rkdavis> unable to parse

[16:02:28] <RayHaque> Oh oh ... does your password have special characters in it?
[16:02:38] <rkdavis> nope
[16:02:58] <RayHaque> Are you able to see what it stored away in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf?
[16:03:10] <rkdavis> yup the sdcard is in the laptop now
[16:03:36] <rkdavis> it's empty

[16:03:55] <rkdavis> that's the problem
[16:04:31] <RayHaque> When it asked if you wanted to configure at boot time, did you say yes?
[16:04:43] <rkdavis> yup
[16:04:51] <rkdavis> and endtered the password too
[16:05:38] <RayHaque> Let me test this "from the top" and see if I can reproduce the error.
[16:06:05] <rkdavis> ok
[16:06:47] <rkdavis> interesting wpa_supplicant2.conf has the psk
[16:07:40] <RayHaque> Uh oh ... I bet I know what I did. :-) That was for testing. I must have forgotten to change it.
[16:07:49] <rkdavis> ah that is the prob i think you don't rename wpa_supplicant2.conf to wpa_supplicant.conf
[16:09:24] <RayHaque> Well, I only put the 2 in there for testing
[16:10:00] <RayHaque> I meant to switch that back in the script once I verified it worked as expected.
[16:17:08] <RayHaque> I am uploading the "fixed" pack now. ;-)
[16:18:45] <rkdavis> ok
[16:19:02] <rkdavis> looking at a problem with udhcpc atm
[16:19:15] <RayHaque> - and we're done.

[16:24:33] <rkdavis> still making host key
[16:24:42] <RayHaque> :-D
[16:24:46] <rkdavis> yup
[16:24:56] <rkdavis> bit slower than normal
[16:25:01] <rkdavis> but done
[16:25:10] <rkdavis> now to try udhcpc
[16:26:03] <rkdavis> ok problem with udhcpc but you didn't touch that
[16:26:26] <rkdavis> and didn't have this prob with the old z2shell
[16:26:28] <RayHaque> Hrm ... didn't change that at all.
[16:26:48] <rkdavis> yup
[16:26:51] <rkdavis> weird

[19:41:04] <Mcavity> looking over your web page.. you mentiond command line image viewers..
[19:41:18] <Mcavity> I think feh ? might work for you
[19:41:33] <Mcavity> and of course you need links2 =)
[19:41:45] <Mcavity> both those shoudl work without X11
[19:42:20] <RayHaque> feh, eh? I'll look that up!
[19:42:36] <Mcavity> i have also used mplayer to play video without xwindows working..though the command string was long
[19:42:45] <Mcavity> http://freshmeat.net/projects/feh/
[19:42:48] <RayHaque> And yeah I dont know how I missed links2. I thought I had links in there (from zipit's site).
[19:43:08] <RayHaque> Mcavity: Really? That would be fun. :-)
[19:45:18] <Mcavity> yes was a fb mode on mplayer and a rotate command [becouse the screen is sideways
[19:47:17] <rkdavis> ugh forgot that scratchbox is effectivly a chroot :) spent 30mins trying to workout why busybox wasn't configuring :)
[19:47:25] <Mcavity> i put my debian image back to stock.. i want to document exactly what i need to do to make it..happy..
[19:47:56] <rkdavis> RayHaque: you might want to add a MAC setting routine in the z2shell script -- i had 3 zipits all turned on and on the internet er talk about messy :)
[19:48:28] <Mcavity> true.. zipits all have same default mac..
[19:48:53] <rkdavis> Mcavity: yup because zipit set it on their end when the zipit talks to their server in the stockapp
[19:49:06] <rkdavis> BUT it's also in a file once a zipit has talked to their server
[19:49:55] <rkdavis> and that's the one that is also under the battery on the zipit -- but if you've turned it on and used it once with their stock app the correct mac is in /mnt/ffs

[19:51:39] <Mcavity> I need to list out my favoite apps. mc, cmus, finch, ect.. maybe someway to swap the default fonts ect..
[19:55:21] <RayHaque> Thats funny. I didnt know that about the MAC addy.
[19:55:37] <RayHaque> I figured the serial number of the zipit was partially based on the MAC>
[19:56:49] <Mcavity> ugh. looks like im wrong.. i think fex does need x installed.
[19:56:55] <RayHaque> Mcavity: Well, feh required imlib2, which requires lX11. :-(
[19:57:08] <Mcavity> yup sorry. =(
[19:57:53] <Mcavity> maybe this http://linux.bytesex.org/fbida/
[19:58:34] <RayHaque> Ah yes. I was working on that one a few nights ago. I forget where I left off.
[20:00:37] <Mcavity> I would love to get a nice pretty launcher app i could use as a front end for the zipit.. so i could give one out as a gift.

[20:41:02] <RayHaque> Man, I am about four levels deep in dependency hell here.
[20:41:24] <Mcavity> heh ouch
[20:41:31] <RayHaque> Everything needs libX11 so I went that route. It requires a dozen or more little peices.
[20:41:46] <RayHaque> I got down to something called xcb, which requires Python!
[20:42:00] <Mcavity> lol
[20:47:52] *** marex has quit IRC

[21:44:15] <RayHaque> Anyone know if there is a bit switch to enable the keyboard light?
[21:44:29] <RayHaque> From the shell that is. ;-)
[21:44:58] <rkdavis> http://zipit.pastebin.com/m1a31adef could trey those
[21:45:41] <RayHaque> thanks rkdavis!
[21:48:08] <rkdavis> how did you get ncurses into scratchbox? i just compiled and installed it but busybox fails saying undefined symbols when i try to do a menuconfig
[21:50:30] <RayHaque> There were some bumps building it.
[21:50:49] <RayHaque> I'm trying to remember them .... :-)
[21:51:47] <RayHaque> But undefined symbols sounds like you are criss-crossing a kernel with elements that don't match it.
[21:52:43] <rkdavis> well it's start scratchbox, wget ncurse, make, make install, wget busybox make defconfig make menuconfig and that's what fails
[21:55:29] <RayHaque> And you never left scratchbox, right?
[21:55:39] <rkdavis> nope
[21:56:05] <RayHaque> I have caught myself compiling outside of scratch because I left it momentarily. :-)
[21:56:34] <rkdavis> defiantly didn't leave scratchbox at all
[21:57:26] <rkdavis> i did that 3 times just incase i had, i.e. i built ncurses and installed it again and retried busybox again
[21:57:31] <rkdavis> all in sb
[21:57:53] <RayHaque> I want to say that when I built ncurses, I changed the prefix in configure.
[21:58:11] <RayHaque> I think I did ... CFLAGS=-static ./configure --prefix=/
[21:58:20] <RayHaque> So that it wouldn't install to /usr/local
[21:58:30] <rkdavis> hmmm ok
[21:58:34] <RayHaque> I don't know that it would make a different in your case though.
[21:58:47] <rkdavis> the headers are obviously in the right place as it didn't complain about those
[21:58:47] <RayHaque> I have never got unresolved symbol errors while in scratchbox.
[21:59:07] <rkdavis> but ok i'll try with a different prefix
[21:59:14] <RayHaque> Usually thats when I am trying to force a driver to load with insmod. :-)
[22:00:38] <RayHaque> If I open the Makefile for nmap, I changed this line: CCOPT = -static
[22:07:20] <RayHaque> Im going to head off to bed folks.
[22:07:28] <rkdavis> night
[22:07:28] <RayHaque> Catch you all tomorrow.
[22:07:41] <RayHaque> rkdavis: Good luck with ncurses!
[22:08:02] <rkdavis> ncurses ain't the problem it's using it for busybox :)
