[02:56:49] <eibmoz_> Hi all... I was here last week some time asking about the Z2
[02:56:53] <eibmoz_> I ordered one and it came in on Tuesday
[02:57:11] <eibmoz_> I was reading through the IRC logs just now,
[02:57:37] <eibmoz_> and I saw on Oct. 2nd where jhaluska said he couldn't get his wifi working with 64-bit WEP
[02:57:45] <eibmoz_> then said it wasn't possible currently
[02:57:48] <eibmoz_> then g1powermac_PB said*
[02:57:54] <eibmoz_> however
[02:58:20] <eibmoz_> with the .zip I got off the yahoo group, I got my 128-bit WEP to work after googling around about wpa_supplicant.conf
[02:58:31] <eibmoz_> not sure if there was a resolution to this, but I thought I'd tell you anyways
[02:58:44] <eibmoz_> the site I came to with googlehttp://www.vollink.com/gary/deb_wifi.html
[02:58:54] <eibmoz_> err... http://www.vollink.com/gary/deb_wifi.html
[02:58:58] <eibmoz_> that's the site google led me to
[03:04:55] <eibmoz_> I didn't change the ctrl_interface line
[03:05:26] <eibmoz_> I pretty much just went by the first example on that page
[03:05:38] <eibmoz_> the one with priority=5
[03:06:31] <eibmoz_> I just changed the 'ssid' and 'wep_key0', added the fourth line, and left out the priority part, since I don't have any other access points
[03:07:08] <eibmoz_> on that site, the "example" I'm referring to is under the 'Configuring /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf' section
[03:07:42] <eibmoz_> anyways, I thought I'd leave that here jic. sorry about my 3am English. xD
[03:17:21] <eibmoz_> *** whoops, I also changed the second line to 'key_mgmt=NONE'

[09:56:17] <echelon> eibmoz_: what're you trying to do?
[09:56:46] <switchcat> I think he was just explaining that he just got his z2, was getting everything squared away and had no problem getting his z2 to work with 128-bit wpa(?) whereas someone had mentioned they couldnt get it working with 64-bit
[09:56:56] <switchcat> or is it WEP? i rebooted so I lost my scrollback
[10:19:28] *** T0mW has joined #zipit
[10:25:44] <jhaluska> Hey T0m
[10:25:54] <echelon> T0mW
[10:29:16] <T0mW> good morning, I think
[10:29:34] <T0mW> my dev box is sick :(
[10:29:40] <T0mW> eSata drives keep coming up with probs
[10:34:51] <switchcat> what sort of probs?
[10:54:59] <T0mW> switchcat: raid 5 array(s) keep coming up with "bad superblock on volume or does not describe correctly an ext2 filesystem"
[10:55:25] <T0mW> then the arrays re-sync and all is well. It is disconcerting
[10:55:28] <echelon> ext2 :S
[10:55:30] <echelon> why would you use that
[10:55:45] <T0mW> I ordered a cheap Gigabyte board to slap in there to replace the Asus P5N-T to see if that is the prob. Either that or the Q6600 is bad.
[10:55:54] <T0mW> echelon: I don't, I use ext3
[10:55:58] <echelon> oh
[10:56:31] <T0mW> machine has run fine for about 10 months before this started happening.
[10:57:01] <T0mW> What is odd, is that I have an AMD X2 6400+ system with a simple raid 1, that has the same error, but only 40% of the bootups.
[10:57:15] * T0mW realizes common-denominator may be himself other than Asus
[10:57:43] <T0mW> I've wiped the raid5 machine several times, installed two different distro versions on it, and it still has probs. Interestingly, when I installed Mandriva 2009.0, it was fine for a couple of boots then it broke.
[10:58:01] <T0mW> echelon: I'm really wondering if it may be that the power supplies are too small?
[10:58:11] <T0mW> the Q6600 machine has 6 sata drives and a 450W supply
[10:58:50] <T0mW> well, I just logged in to lurk and see what is happening. I have some work to do at finishing up my workshop.
[10:58:51] *** T0mW is now known as T0mW`gone

[15:09:21] <mycroftxxx> Could someone capable of grokking code take a look at http://keymouse.berlios.de/? I have read/seen rumors about mousekeys not working under kdrive, so have been looking for an alternative.
[15:39:52] <unrest> mycroftxxx, if you have allthe dev-tools on your z2 you'll likely be able to compile and use this softmouse
