[12:23:55] <Rossimo> there's a forum up on the zipit forge, but it needs to be elaborated upon

[12:24:28] <Rossimo> were you logged in? there's a new topic button in each subsection
[12:24:39] <dare2dreamer> neither of the two sections seemed appropriate to post such a listing, and I couldn't create a new top level

[12:33:28] <Rossimo> there was a lot of work being done on OE, and i did a couple ports, but things have died down a little

[12:33:56] <Rossimo> this will start to pick up around where i live very soon. zipit wireless is close to my university, and they've visited and given a presentation. i'll be giving a presentation tomorrow night on embedded linux devices tomorrow.

[21:34:11] <T0mW> I've been beating myself up with OE in trying to get gpe working. At this point, I think it is a question of what versions of packages that I am building. I built gpe-image using Angstrom, but it won't boot.
[21:34:22] <T0mW> something broken there, but without kernel messages you really cannot debug it.
[21:34:32] <Rossimo> hmm, i was thinking about working on Qtopia. someone's got it working on the GP2X
[21:34:43] <T0mW> The Zipit uses blob, but you cannot change the blob ATAG for the command line without re-flashing the blob. I already bricked one Z2 by trying to replace the kernel via the MTD.

[21:34:57] <T0mW> So, when I have more time, I will work at upgrading the working bootstrap image to include gpe.

[21:39:45] <T0mW> about an hour to build the bootstrap-image, about 2.5 hours to build the gpe-image.
[21:39:56] <T0mW> that is on an AMD X2 6400+ with 4gig of RAM

[21:41:11] <T0mW> probably 5..7 hours if you tried that on an Athlon 2800+
