openembedded (#1) - Won't boot (#35) - Message List
I tried following the instructions for creating a boot SD card. I've seen zipit boot from one, and even watched my Zipit boot from his SD card, so I know it can work. But the perl script seems to assume that the card will be called /dev/sd? (? = letter). Mine is called /dev/mmcblk0, and partitions are called /dev/mmcblk0p1 and /dev/mmcblk0p2. I had to rewrite the script to fix that. The script completes now, and I can see all the files there. It just doesn't normally boot.
However, if once I'm in the Zipit software, if I select Defaults and then reboot, it will try to boot from my SD card. But, it doesn't complete. It hangs on "booting...". And, when I reset it it goes back to the Zipit software. I have to set to Defaults again to try to boot it again.
I have a Patriot 2GB SD card. I tried using several live Linux CDs: Slax, Fedora, Debian, and a few others.
